About The Book
|
In a world of aggressively competitive sports,
Golf remains unique, where camaraderie and etiquette play just as an important
part as the game itself. In Peter Post's newest book, Playing Through: A Guide to the
Unwritten Rules of Golf, the avid golfer helps both new and experienced
players navigate the social expectations of golf. From appropriate dress attire
to blind shots and "gimmies," Peter teaches players of all ages behavior that
will not only improve your game, but also impress those around you. |

Peter Talks Tips
|
Question Peter- When a group ahead of you invites you to play through what are some things you can do to speed up the process?
Answer It's great when a group will let you play through, and you're right to be thinking there are ways you can make the process faster for everyone. Here are my top three tips for playing through:
1. Speed up a. Putt quickly- avoiding long contemplations about the putt b. Allow for gimmies (maybe any putt within 5ft of the hole is
a gimmie).
c. Institute a 2 putt rule- you get one chance to make your putt, if you don't no matter where the ball is it's considered a gimmie. 2. Be "Super-Ready" Being super-ready means being ready to go no hemming and hawing over what club to use or if it's your turn in the rotation. Simply, have your club ready, your angles thought out and hit the ball as soon as you get a chance! 3. Be sure to say, "Thank-you"
