FranklinCovey Workshop to Help Individuals Adopt Business Etiquette
In Order to "Gain the Competitive Advantage" Salt Lake City - September 26, 2002 - You take an important client to lunch at a restaurant that you know does not allow cell phones. After ordering lunch, the client takes out his cell phone and starts dialing. What would you do? FranklinCovey, a global leader in effectiveness training, productivity tools and assessment services for organizations and individuals, in partnership with Crane & Company, the leader in 100 percent cotton social correspondence papers, and the Emily Post Institute, a leader in social and business etiquette, has announced "Gaining the Competitive Advantage Through Business Etiquette," an exclusive workshop designed to educate individuals and organizations about how to navigate everyday business situations in order to increase confidence, build trust, earn respect and decrease incivility in the workplace. Communication topics will dominate the workshop - from emails, cell phones and formal business correspondence to meetings, high-tech presentations and daily interaction with co-workers and clients. The exclusive workshop, which will be presented by Peter Post, director for the Emily Post Institute and great-grandson of Emily Post, will take place on Tuesday, October 15 at the FranklinCovey Effectiveness Center in Las Colinas, located at 861 West John Carpenter Freeway. Workshop attendees can register for one of three scheduled times: 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.; 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.; or 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Registration for the course is $89, which includes all workshop materials and a complimentary copy of Post's book, "The Etiquette Advantage in Business: Personal Skills for Professional Success" (HarperCollins). "Customer satisfaction, a motivated workforce, a trustworthy reputation - these goals are attainable through the use of business etiquette," says Post. "The 'Gaining the Competitive Advantage' workshop will teach people how to use the critical skills of business etiquette to improve and maintain personal and professional relationships over the long-term." Participants will learn how to use the three principles of etiquette to enhance their interactions with others; as well as a four-step process for resolving typical business problems. Post has conducted business etiquette seminars for companies across the country and this marks the first time the seminar has been offered to the public. Coinciding with the "Gaining the Competitive
