Emily Post Institute Offers
Business Etiquette Seminars to the Public

”The Golden Rules of Management” and “The 24/7 Professional” to be presented Tuesday, May 6 at the Radisson Hotel in Burlington

Burlington, VT—April 10, 2003—Etiquette expert and author Peter Post will present two, two-and-a-half-hour business etiquette seminars on Tuesday, May 6, at the Radisson Hotel in Burlington. “The Golden Rules of Management” will be presented from 8:30-11 a.m. and “The 24/7 Professional” runs from 3-5:30 p.m. Each session costs $99 per person and the seminars are open to the public. To register, call 802/860-1814.

Post is the author of “The Etiquette Advantage in Business: Personal Skills for Professional Success” (HarperCollins) and conducts business etiquette seminars at companies across the country. “In today’s economy, people need every advantage to get ahead professionally. This training focuses on the seemingly intangible ‘people skills’ that can really make the difference between success or failure in business.”

The first session—The Golden Rules of Management—focuses on key strategies for managers who want to build a positive workplace environment. Post will present the key demands of today’s employees and how by meeting them managers can achieve greater profits, productivity and retention. The quantitative and qualitative impact of incivility in the workplace will be analyzed. Managers will learn specific skills to deal with difficult employees, run more productive meetings, and improve their written and oral communications.

The second session—The 24/7 Professional—will teach participants to master a professional image and increase their confidence in a variety of business situations. From business social events and networking opportunities to meetings and interviews, Post will provide specific tips for making the best impression and getting the most from these crucial business interactions. Post will present a five-step problem solving process to resolve situations where no etiquette “rule” applies. In both sessions, participants will work through real-life scenarios by applying etiquette principles to resolve difficult situations.

One of Emily Post’s four great-grandchildren, Peter Post is an author and spokesperson for the Emily Post Institute. His new book, “Essential Manners for Men” will be published in November. Post conducts hundreds of media interviews annually and has appeared on CNN’s Crossfire, NBC’s Dateline and Weekend Today programs and Fox News. Based in Burlington, the Emily Post Institute continues the legacy of Emily Post through books (more than ten different titles in print), magazine columns, the web site www.emilypost.com, table manner programs for children and business etiquette seminars.
