2001 Holiday Celebration Plans

Will your holiday celebrations be different this year in light of the war on terrorism and a weakening economy?

Sixty-eight percent of our respondents said their holiday celebrations would not change. Of the 32% who said they would change their plans, 17% cited the economy as the reason why. Others commented that this year they wanted to stay close to home and family, and several indicated that feelings of sadness made it difficult to celebrate in their usual manner. ".my heart and soul are somewhat mourning for the victims and their families and friends."

Of those whose plans were not going to change, comments ran along the lines of: "We will celebrate as we always do - at home with our families," and "If we allow ourselves to be intimidated into changing our fundamental way of life, including our traditions, then the terrorists win."

Thanks to all who shared their thoughts with us regarding this year's holidays. We hope you find comfort in your family and friends, and joy despite the sadness.
